Here’s Teenybopper Vamp, all finished!
For those of you just tuning in, this is the drawing I made for my Illustrator Coloring tutorial (which I’m writing up the last part as we speak I CAN TASTE FREEDOM I’M SO CLOSE). I intended it to be a fast one-off, something that I would never really finish, but she charmed me. I ended up finishing her after all.
She isn’t as polished as most of my work, but I didn’t have a lot of time to spend on her. I might go back and fix things up in the future.
Done entirely in Illustrator CS5.

This is my submission to the Calendar of Tales contest! I did this for the August story, obviously. The birds at the very end were the most striking part to me, and birds will always remind me of Charley Harper. So…I lit a bunch of Charley Harper-esque birds on fire. Larger version on dA!
I would say I feel bad, buuuut I really don’t. It was fun. Also, all of the birds are local to Wrightwood, the community where my grandparents live. Wrightwood has been occasionally threatened by wildfire, so I felt it was appropriate.
